One of the un-documented feature of the "Install Online Price Retrieval for
GnuCash" script/shortcut is that it also upgrades Perl modules if newer
version ones are available in the repository. This will upgrade module
dependencies and the finance quote module followed by a validation of a
sample call.
OR
You can also upgrade it manually with Strawberry Perl's command line console
(In Windows 11's search type in 'Perl' and you will see an item called 'Perl
(command line)'). This will only upgrade the module but not the dependencies
(however, if missing any dependencies then it will install the missing ones
with latest version). Execute these three command in that console:
perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Finance::Quote
exit
Former method is recommend so that you have all the latest with all the
bells, whistles and un-published features that come with new versions.
