Yes David there are some "interesting" behaviours within the Lot Viewer,
however with patience and perseverance you should be able to master it,
and one day you will sit back and wonder what all the fuss was about.

When I try to launch GnuCash I get this error:

Ah hah! This could be the cause of all your problems.
That error message says that your perl installation is missing a key
component - the "Date::Manip" module.
Explaining how to fix this will take a bit of effort, and as it is now

It is possible it will cause problems. When you specify the prefix the
installation procedure puts the libraries and shared resources in particular
locations. AFAIK it doesn't create environment variables in your system but
the choice of prefix goes affect how GnuCash looks for files

--extra) and offer any suggestions. It was designed to assist AP/AR lot
usage, and could be augmented to assist STOCK use of lots (afaik is
optional for this).
