Yep, that’s the thread. There is some documentation on the wiki, but it is not exhaustive. If you are running Linux or Mac, you can use the GTKInspector to find the possible css classes and nodes to style. (details on the GTK wiki page) That’s how I tracked down stuff in that thread. When I have some time, I'll add the Summary Bar info to the wiki, or feel free to do so yourself as your work out the kinks. Re: [GNC] Budget (combine 2 categories?)
I suspected as much. Of course, depending on your needs (like just a report), the change could be temporary. Otherwise, you could create virtual accounts just for budgeting. Some envelope method implementations do this. Keeping track of everything can get tedious and you end up making budget-only splits each time those affected accounts appear in a transaction. Re: [GNC] Budget (combine 2 categories?)
If by categories, you mean accounts, the only way I know of is to make them children of another account and put the budget in the parent. You don’t have to let the child amounts roll up, you can just specify the parent budget and leave the sub-accounts blank. Re: [GNC] Register / Accounts page Footer CSS
Jimmy, It’s called the Summary Bar. In Preferences > Windows you can move it to top or bottom as desired. (so not necessarily a ‘footer’) With respect to CSS, search the list archives several months back. (August? September?) We had a long thread on CSS changes, and in it, we tackled the Summary Bar. Sorry I don’t have a link to the thread handy, or the specific CSS rules. I do recall though that there are rules which affect just the text, just the background behind the text, the entire bar, and the sliver of background the bar sits on top that shows outside of the rounded corners. I don’t know if these rules will affect that bar in the Register or not. (don’t think we even tried) I seem to recall the Register page as being an ‘all or nothing’ target. Some parts within individual transactions have been exposed for styling, but those are known and covered in the wiki and the example CSS file on GitHub.
