Jean, The Linux build instructions are here https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Building_On_Linux If you are installing 4.6 there are some new dependencies which will be in the release notes and the dependency files in the sources. AFAIK the wiki hasn't yet been updated to deal with any V4.6 issues.

I run the up to date versions on Ubuntu using flatpak which is kept updated with the latest version - see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Flatpak for details. I think it runs ok on Mint linux also and there's no need to compile anything, just run a "flatpak update" now and again to update to any
