No, you cannot delete invoices/bills/credit notes.
Simply edit them, remove all lines and info in them that you can, and perhaps
change their number to ‘use next’ so they’ll stand out next time you need one.

I am trying to create a credit note for a customer, in exact same way as
Invoice except that type chosen is "Credit note".
But after posting the "credit note", Gnucash is "increasing" receivables
instead of decreasing.
It also increases "tax liability" - it should actually decrease
