Thank you :) ! The short version is that we were unhappy with dot CD (go.cd) since an issue with our DNS registrar in Dec 2016. We started looking for more reliable top level domains. Dot ORG was in our radar but it would take time to get it and given availability at that point, we settled for dot IO. We'd always felt this was temporary. We finally got dot ORG recently and so were able to move to it.
