Some observations from the 2018 STM report on a global shift in countries' funding of research that might interest list members:
Chin "China has overtaken the US to become the pre-eminent producer of global research papers globally, with a share of about 19%, and on current trends its research spending will also exceed the US’s by the early 2020s.
