Yesterday I tried to open a folder in OE containing about 2,000

I have tried to rebuild my database and OE just quits in the process,
also giving be a memory error.

When I open OE and select the folder, I get the same warning and/or
OE freezes so that I have to reboot.

After I rebuilt OE, the folder "Main Identity" had two files for
everything one, but instead of saying Old, it says rebuilt?

It may be coincidental, but ever since I installed OS 9.2, OE has
 been really sluggish when opening.

Any suggestions on how to proceed other than trash several months mail?

Do a Get Info and give OE more memory. I suggest trimming your mail and making backups.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for the quick reply and suggestions. I had already increased the memory allotted to 40 mgs, and just tried 75 mgs in response to your message, but when selecting the folder mentioned in my first post, the Mac just freezes. I only keep one to two months of messages in OE now. Also, I have had more messages in a folder in the past, and have never had this problem before.
