With temples of justice across the country flooded
with an ocean of pending cases, it is time for us to
seriously invoke and wholeheartedly promote
alternative methods of dispute resolution.

No stone should be left unturned to reach a possible
settlement by arbitration, conciliation, mediation or
a judicial settlement through Lok Adalat.

It would also be appropriate to see night courts take
off to clear the backlog that remains in spite of all
broad daylight efforts.

Why not sit with your adversary and discuss the issue
over a cup of coffee or a chilled beer if that helps
to come to a legally valid settlement.

With so much rage and enthusiasm to litigate one
wonders what has happened to the village elders of
yester years, who through their father figure role,
aborted and prevented so many possible litigations.
