Congratulations to Prince Jacob for his Film "Padri" which was released on
Saturday. The premiere show was watched by the capacity crowd at Ashok
Theatre in Panjim. I had an opportunity to watch this premiere show.
Comedy was good by both the brothers Jacob and Humbert and with the addition
of another excellent comedian John D'Silva, comedy turned out to be
beautiful. Annie Quadros did a wonderful job of a "Uni", her role of a dead
person in the coffin in the cemetry deserve highest compliments. The role
played by Mangalorean heroine is to be appreciated. Her looks are also good
befitting her role. The role played by Newton as Priest is to be
appreciated so also by both the youngsters as his brothers. The scenes were
good depicting real Goa.
My point of writing this is to congratulate Prince Jacob for taking such a
bold step at this young age to produce a Film. I also congratulate his
colleagues in cooperating with him in this great venture. With this film
the importance of Konkani language has gone still high.
I hope Konkani lovers will support this filmso that Prince Jacob and other
Konkani artistes will also go forward in producing more and more Konkani
Films.
