German agency to certify sky bus technology: Velu BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, FEB 14 - Union Minister of State for Railways, R Velu has said the Konkan Railway Corporation will approach Germany-based expert TUV for certification of the indigenously developed sky bus technology. Briefing newsmen, Velu said the expert committee, which examined the sky bus technology had recommended to the KRC to obtain certification of the project from an independent agency. "Given that the sky bus technology is a new concept, the KRC will approach the German group for certification", he added. KRC Managing Director, Dr K K Gokhale said it would take another 8-10 months for the KRC to get the certification. "We already had a meeting with the German experts and will shortly work out the procedure for the certification", he added. Asked to comment on the sky bus technology, the Union Minister of State for Railways said the KRC has got a patent for the technology, adding that plans are afoot to implement the project in Hyderabad and Pune. -- Peace be with you!
