Hi there....Nelly is certainly not Bombay Goan; her parents originally came from the Azores and moved to Victoria...therefore her very multi cultural outlook and influence on her music. She is very Portuguese at heart and if I am not mistaken lives off Little Italy (mix of Portuguese/Italian hood) around College/Ozzington. In an interview a couple of years ago, she did say she wanted to visit Goa some day!!
