Surendra, wife file nominations

PANJIM, FEB 17 –- Candidates who will contest against the Babush
Monseratte panel at the March 12 CCP elections started filing their
nominations on Friday.

Prominent among those who filed their nominations include Nationalist
Congress Party (NCP) General secretary Surendra Furtado and his wife
Ruth Furtado.
The BJP has now decided not to float its own panel but join hands with
other like-minded political groups to fight to Monserrate's panel —
Panjim City Corporation Development Front (PCCDP).
On the fifth day, the last batch of PCCDF candidates filed their
nominations. Some prominent PCCDF candidates who filed their
nominations include former corporator Yatin Parekh (Ward 14), and Tony
Rodrigues (Ward 16).
Former corporator Rudresh Chodankar also filed his nomination from ward 23.
In all thirty-four nominations were filed to the 30-member Corporation
of City of Panjim (CCP) on Friday. The total number of nominations
filed has touched 69.
