The wheels of justice cannot be allowed to churn so
slowly. The figure of pending cases across India is
mind boggling.
In Mumbai alone, since 1990 there are one lakh divorce
cases pending. With the dance bar girls all geared to
rock and roll, the matrimonial blues can only deepen.
And then we have the steadily rising rape and murder
cases that shows no sign of respite. To top it we have
Abu Salem who continues to confuse and pre-occupy the
investigating and prosecution machinery. His trial
seems to be a trail of nightmare. Was it worth
extraditing him in the first place? Only time will
tell.
