Best wishes Eustaquio ******* Deccan Odyssey's maiden run from November PTI [THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2003 01:16:00 AM] MUMBAI: The much-awaited Deccan Odyssey luxury train, providing travel buffs a week-long exotic glimpse of the lush greenery and sand-filled coasts of Goa and Maharashtra , would finally chug down the black iron rails from November. Announcing the introduction of the train on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said the state-of-the art train would start from Mumbai every Wednesday and return after visiting the tourist places in Maharashtra and Goa. "We have requested Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to flag off the train," Bhujbal told reporters. State Tourism Minister Jaydutt Kshirsagar informed that the 21-coach train would have 13 saloons to accomodate 96 passengers in different compartments. Each five-star level compartment would accomodate two passengers making it eight passengers per coach while other coaches would consist of two restaurants, a bar, conference room, health car, staff car and two generator cars, he added. Bhujbal said the Deccan Odyssey, India 's third exclusive train for tourism after the Royal Orient Express of Gujarat Tourism and the Palace on Wheels of Rajasthan Tourism, would be the first train in the country providing internet and credit cards facility, alongwith television, intercom, CD/ MP3 player facility.
