Dear all, It is important to acknowledge the people and volunteers who support an organization and make it successful. Starting with this email, I will periodically write about a Goa Sudharop hero/heroine, people who quietly donate their time, skills, money. They make a difference, away from the limelight.
Sophia is in the 3rd grade here in the San Francisco Bay Area and is 8 years old. She does volunteer work and helps others. In the process she has received donations from various donors (a la the Girls Scouts). Yesterday, in honor of International Goan Women’s Appreciation Day she donated her collection of $336 to help children health care in Goa. Adults in the audience were stunned by her generosity and immediately raised an additional $500 for the "SOPHIA FUND” to be donated in Goa. An eight year old has made a difference. Some of life’s best lessons are learnt from children. Thank you Sophia, a genuine heroine in our midst and inspiration to us all.
