TWO GOANS DIE IN ALASKA SEA DISASTER: Two Goans are among the five Indian crew members feared dead after a Malaysia ship ran aground off the cost of Alaska last week. The five, along with a Filipino, were on board a US Coast Guard rescue helicopter that crashed into the sea. All efforts to search them failed by Saturday (December 11), according to reports. The Goan crew members were identified as Blaise M Mascarenhas (33) and Zeferino M Vaz (46), both from Salcete. (H) CABINET TO DISCUSS PENDSE REPORT: The much awaited report regarding the one-time settlement by the Economic Development Corporation is likely to be discussed on 15 December, according to reliable sources. The Pendse Commission was appointed by the State Government in October last year after Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president and MLA Luizinho Faleiro locked into a fight over the issue of OTS by the EDC. (GT) LEOPARDS IN SINQUERIM: Animal attendant from the Campal Range Forest Office, Sainath Shirodkar, said, Two leopards have been sighted near the Aguada jail by many people around the area. Recently, a leopard entered a toilet outside a residential house. In another case, the animal jumped on a jeep that was going towards the Aguada jail.
