(GT) CAMPAL SILT IN NAGALI: In an alarming development, contaminated silt from Mala Lake, which was dumped at Parade grounds, Campal, has now made its way to Nagali Hills, Dona Paula. During the last 24 hours, as many as 100 trucks were deployed to shift the Mala Lake silt to the new unauthorized dumping ground, three kms away from the Dona Paula junction. (H) POLICE TO CLOSE DOWN SEX JOINTS ON BEACHES: The police are taking steps to close down the joints, Klinsons Bar and Restaurant and the shack owned by Mr Anthony Britto and would be writing to the North Goa collector to issue an order for the same. Official sources said the police had taken cognizance of the complaints of allegedly 'nefarious' activities, including prostitution being conducted at these joints. The police were seeking to close down all such places where flesh trade and other nefarious activities were being conducted, the sources said.
