Melinda Powell gave a list of popular old English songs and wrote...

We still sing these "oldies" at parties, when everyone is in a good mood, when
the feni(south Goa variety)warms the head and the heart. It is up to us,to
relive the "times".

This just goes to prove my point that South Goans don't know how to make good Caju Feni. A true Feni should bring up nostalgic memories of Konkani songs on the radio. In North Goa we would be singing songs by Alfred Rose, Lorna etc.

And after a good amount of genuine North Goan Caju Feni is consumed one moves on to popular picnic and party songs songs like

Fu Gadi Fu (Ponjechea pular bosun aslem soku)
Possorkanni-Possorkanni
Tabdem Rosa
O Xezanni
etc

Whereas in the culturally confused South they shift to English songs like
In the Morning by the Sea
Inkie Pinkie Parlez Vous
Pistol Packing Mama
etc.

Cheers!

Cecil
