JMFC ISSUES PROCESS AGAINST NORWEGIAN
Judicial Magistrate First Class, Panaji, Shekhar V. Parab, has directed that process be issued against a Norwegian Citizen Mr. Ivar Fjeld, resident of Milroc Complex Ribandar for having allegedly threatened to take the life of Mr. Feliciano D'Souza also a resident of the same complex. Acting on a private Criminal Complaint filed by Mr. D'Sousa, the JMFC has directed the accused Mr. Fjeld to appear before him on 13th February to answer charges under section 506, Part 2 of the Indian Penal code. The Private Criminal complaint follows the failure of the Old Goa Police to take action on Mr. D' Sousa's complaint and for registering a mere non-cognizable case against the Norwegian. Mr. D' Sousa has stated that on his complaint to the health authorities about contaminated bore well water being supplied to the Milroc residents the authorities after investigation sealed the bore well. Mr. D'Sousa has stated that this angered the accused Mr. Fjeld, a friend of the builder, who threatened to finish of D' Sousa for having complained about the contaminated water.
