HEART 2 HEART (Herald) BY ETHEL DA COSTA A prayer for Goa COMMENTS: By: Floriano Lobo Given a little more time, days rather, we have a feeling that what we at Goa Su-Raj have been doing for the past 4 years will look like second rate stuff in comparison to what is being written and said in these recent times. I mean our work of compiling the 'road map for Goa's governance". As we have said before, Wendell said it a few weeks ago. Remo said it yesterday and poor Ethel has been saying things for a long time now. But one thing becomes very clear in our minds. What we have embarked upon at Goa Su-Raj is nothing that may be considered as a bright idea that needs to be hidden from view so that it may not be copied by others, first. These have been the same old aspirations that were on our minds since we were children, as were on the minds of most. But we have been the first to give these aspirations a political shade, something written down in words so that others may read what we have put down in writing and hold it against us if we should not endeavour to deliver them if and when a chance is given to us to prove our mettle. We are taking the liberty of e-mailing the almost completed 'road map' to our good friends Ethel and Cecil, so they may know how our minds have been silently working and to see if these our have been really working in the interest of Goa and Goans or in self interest as usual. For politics is "AJIBH KI BHAT HAI" (Politics is strange), more so, the recent day politics where everything is oral and nothing written down.. Through Anthony Baretto's post on the goanet today and through his earlier posts, we find it pertinent to mention here that Goa Su-Raj would like to do a hundred times mega job for Goa, which will put Manohar Parrikar's IFFI job at Panjim to shade. It will be the down to earth development of Anthony Baretto's passion, the far removed village of Keri in Canacona Taluka. For Goa to really shine, the people of Keri and such like must shine first. And we do not mean that the people of Keri must be given a multiplex or two, a few computers here and there. Let Goa give them what they deserve and which has been denied to them for far too long. THEY DESERVE BASIC AMENITIES. We saw yesterday on our TVs the famous pop singer Lionel Richie concluding the Miss World contest show. And the way he was taking the crowd along has a special meaning to us at Goa Su-Raj. In the same vein, we would like to ask of you. Oh Goa!! "ARE YOU READY?????" Floriano Lobo goasuraj
