The tourist season has set in at Palolem in full swing at Canacona, with tourists flocking to the beach. "Several artistes, born in Goa, had to migrate to Mumbai and other places to earn their daily bread. They, however, did not sever their links with Goa and visited the State unfailing every year," he said further. (GT) CONTRIBUTIONS WORTH NOTING: For the most part, Goan public opinion is critical of them, using terms which are hardly flattering, and treats them as encroachers into this State. But the reality is that migrants into Goa cannot all be clubbed into one basket. Some, like their selfish local counterparts, are carpet-baggers solely interested in what they can get out of the State for themselves. Others have been contributing to building a Goa that indeed takes this region and her people ahead. (Edit in Herald).
