Yes, that was a lucky break that the Falklands was not considered
seriously, just as turn of the 19th century British offer to exiled
European Jews to give them Uganda as a homeland.
Luckily the bookish Jews researched Uganda, and refused it on the basis
that Uganda was not mentioned in the Old
Mel---with hindsight perhaps it was just as well that it did not happen as 10
years later ie 1982---Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands...
Can you imagine the terror of the Ugandan Asians... being forced to flee from
one scene of horror to experiencing another within a 'short' time span?

Dumb 19th century Brits---they should have selected Abyssinia ie Ethiopia...
for the exiled European Jews who were predominantly Ashkenazi. Def mentioned in
the Old Testament...
