The BJP government in Goa devises a way to circumvent every possible law.
The Supreme Court has prohibited displaying photographs of politicians on
government advertisements. The only ones exempted are the President of
India, Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India.
This law laid down by the Supreme Court is however being flouted by now
camouflaging the full page advertisements as being issued by the
contractors while infact the financial burden is indirectly lumbered on the
tax payers. All this despite the State coffers being in dire financial
straits.
Public’s attention is sort to be diverted from the follies and bad
governance by just laying down gala foundation stones and also inaugurating
incomplete projects. A foundation stone should mark the actual commencement
of the work while the inauguration should be only after the project is
complete in all respects. Otherwise its cheap politricks to deviously
garner short term political mileage.
