The Goan voter is no fool. The rejection of the Alemao family has shown
that the Goan electorate is not enamoured with family Raj. I remember the
day when Oscar Fernandes informed all and sundry that 'people' and 'party
workers/ had been consulted and 'WINNABILITY' was the key to selection of
the candidates. The electorate of Goa has proved that you cannot take it
for granted.
As for me, I am quite glad that a few of the corrupt s0ds have been
defeated.
Mauvin who just scraped through with a measly 990 votes was lamenting that
"we have made mistakes". Well bud, let's hope we have also learnt.
I am also elated that one of my ex-students, Michael Lobo has won from
Calangute.
