The festivities of the famous zatra of Goddess Lairai
in the village of Shirgaon got underway yesterday.
Lairai is a member of the septet of sisters, one of
whom is the Milagres Saibinn of Mapusa. This is
an exemplar of the syncretic elements in Goa's
religious tradition.

want to read it myself...
i immediately called a respected saraswat brahmin
hindu friend in Mapusa...who retorted...ask the poster
which is the elder sister and who is the younger...
