Press Note
The Goa Su-Raj Party - GSRP is against the passing of the Amendment to the
GOA-Lokayukta Act as has been cleared by the Goa Legislative Assembly and
urges the Governor of Goa not to sign the same. The Amendment is Draconian,
Anti-People and Pro-Corruption, contradicting the ruling Party's stand,
more specifically the stand of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar of 'zero
tolerance to corruption'. With the proposed Amendment, the Goa Lokayukta Act
no longer remains the Lokayukta Act and shall be only fit to adorn the
waste-basket of the Office of the Hon. Lokayukta, with those persons who
may want to expose the CORRUPT hindered from doing so at the outset.
This Party hopes that better sense prevails.
