Church certificates
Registration of birth, death, marriage is compulsory in Goa >hence it
si incumbent upon the the Registrar of births and death to preserve
this vital information and make it available to the person as and when
he needs. He was called the CONSERVADOR during Portuguese times, meaning
thereby a PRESERVER of records. The records are in shambles, torn,
mutilated, which fact should make the authority liable to prosecution.
People do not have the time and energy to pursue and hence the
authority goes Scot free.In order to reconstruct the records the
Registrar request photo copies of Church records The church records
are maintained with utmost accuracy and are absolutely reliable and
valid . There is no question of any manipulations , as one copy is
safely preserved in church archival records It is noted with
satisfaction that the church documents will henceforth will be
accepted as authentic. If the same are valid for reconstruction of
unavailable records with the Registrar the same should be officially
declared as valid for all purposes, thus saving the citizens of
unnecessary trouble. Such a declaration is not announced to the public
as yet The news from Pamela through Joseph is a much awaited relief
