IFFI Organising Committee Biased towards Goan Artistes?
I fully support Sanny de Quepem/Kuwait on his views. A few tiatrists names are just thrown to add a secular colour to this whole tamasha by the handpicked IFFI organising committee of Digamber Kamat. Goan cinema has been stifled by this sort of approach. Even in this year's IFFI, there is no mention of any Goan Film...I wish Goans should boycott the IFFI, as anyways it is a party of the rich and famous of India and not Goans Also, a boycott of the IFFI is a right slap on the face of the Government and this platform must be used by the opponents of SEZ's. Stop unnecessary extravagant expenditure like the IFFI that is detrimental to the interests of Goans. Due to the organising of IFFI, the Congress government will stop functioning for a month in December....while the Aam Aadmi will continue to suffer... Will Floriano, Porrikar, Mathany heed my advice? Goans must fight to include more NIZ GOENKARS into the IFFI festivities. What about Alfred Rose? He was associated with so many films in bollywood. what of Rosario Rodrigues? M Boyer? wouldnt it be fitting to honour M Boyer while he is still living...? Till date Goans have not given due respect to Chris Perry, the NIZ Goenkar who earned Goa a big reputation as a music loving State. I feel Goans lost a big opportunity wherein the new white elephant of Digamber Kamat....the new a/c auditorium opposite fatorda stadium (which is taking forever to complete thus proving to be a money makin machine or a white elephant for those involved) was not named after Margao's spirited music oriented son -- Chris perry himself...
