India rape culture is thriving. Consider this incident on 16th August in Jharkhand (a state in central India). Two underage girls were travelling on a motorbike with an adult neighbour. The bike broke down near a bridge and one of the girls phoned a friend for help. Instead 11 men turned up, beat up the adult and took turns to rape the girls. They then stole their mobile phones. The police eventually took action – not clear what.
