http://www.goa-world.com/expressions/valentines/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jim, How can Goan culture be Catholic in Nature. Goan culture is both Catholic, Hindu and Muslim. The decline of Catholic Goans in Goa is very simple. Goans do not want to make Goa their home any more. More and more are opting to live in the Western world. The perception of people in the rest of India is that majority of goans are catholics. Which is completely false. I think Catholic Goans are about 26%, Hindus 65% and the rest Muslims. More and more non-Goans, be it from other part of India or abroad are making Goa their permanent home. When I mean permanent, means they stay for 10 months of the year and may go to their own country for a couple of months. I have changed home 17 times in my life. I can truthfully say, there is no place like Goa to live, inspite of the mess, terrible garbage problems, etc etc. This is a paradise compared to lots of other places. Ana Maria de Souza-Goswami
