More recently in an endearingly pensive vein Ana Maria de Souza-Goswami shared her trajectories in language acquisition, in a life spend across India; as well as the relevance of learning the Konkani language. It has also been a pleasure to read both Vinay Natekar and Shrikant Barve. Such clarity can only elicit more thoughts. In this vein I would like to suggest a possibility in putting down thoughts and ideas in a very limited but potent idiom; the haiku -- in Konkani. The haiku employs a three line structure of 5, 7 and 5 syllables. There is no doubt that my syllable structure and indeed spellings could very much be askew. Konkani unlike the Japanese has few single syllable words. But I am sure that the Romi could throw up quite a few homonyms, which would be a treasure trove to those wishing to put thoughts into Konkani. Here, some of my few thoughts rendered as haiku. Feel free to comment or curse.
