Mapusa Chor Bazaar, Police Station etc I wonder what DySp Sammy Tavares of ‘Police Porjek’ VCD fame has to say about this Or how would he feel if his own VCD (duplicated) is sold out here ? On this notorious’ Chor Bazaar’ lane alone (shakuntala fountain lane) there are about 20 hawkers/venders selling pirated DVDs up to six films on each CD. One vendor on every 5 meter distance (see pic) It’s like happening out in the open right under the nose of Mapusa Police Station where DySp Sammy Tavares himself is the Chief. latest releases (almost same day of the release) 7 khoon maaf + 5 others films all for Rs.50 only Patiala House, No one killed Jessica, Dabangg, Dhobhi Ghat, Yeh Saali Zindangi http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoaukextra2/5469358696/sizes/l/

Which could mean Mapusa Police Station earns (in black) about Rs.7,500 per day (assuming there are 50). = Rs.2,25,000 per month If that is true, then it must also be true that the chief gets half of it that's over a lakh a month. Plus they get Matka hafta and other regular haftas. (on top of their salaries and allowances) *I know, this may not be true but police inaction makes everyone to believe so.
