PTI | PANAJI | MAR 06, 2012

BJP leader Manohar Parrikar, who powered his party to regain power in
Goa and is tipped to be the next chief minister, said today the party
will hand over the Public Accounts Committee report on illegal mining
to the Lokayukta within 100 days.

"All the findings in the PAC report are based on documents. The state
government can hand over the document to Lokayukta for investigation,"
Parrikar, who headed the PAC, said.

BJP had in its manifesto announced it would form Lokayukta within 100 days.

"Once Lokayukta is formed, we will submit the report to them to
investigate," Parrikar said.

The PAC report, which the Speaker had refused to be tabled on the
floor of the House, had indicted several people including chief
minister Digambar Kamat on illegal mining scam which BJP had made its
main poll plank.

Parrikar, however, said he would not play the politics of revenge but
will prosecute all the ministers who were allegedly involved in the
scam.

"We will not use the police machinery as Lokayukta will be handle all
those cases," he added.
