Probably a mix-up between two words?
vain
veɪn/
*adjective*
1. *1*.
having or showing an excessively high opinion of one's appearance,
abilities, or worth.
"their flattery made him vain"
synonyms: conceited, narcissistic, self-loving, in love with
oneself, self-admiring,
I referred wrongly to the usage as idiomatic. Apparently, saying plain
"vain" is worse. Thankfully worse. Perhaps I am simply misreading the
title, and denigarting the pundits.
The Eesh still stays. :)

Why be so idiomatic in using the word, vain?
