I categorically deny that I am planning to contest the
next Goa Assembly elections.
Though I am under intense pressure from supporters and
well-wishers to contest either from Panaji or Santa
Cruz Constituency, I stand by my earlier and firm
decision not to contest any elections.
Lamenting that our legislators do everything except
legislate good laws, I am of the firm belief that one
does not need any power or position to serve the
people and to campaign against any social injustice.
I am confident that I can be more effective fighting
injustice through social activism and the Courts.
The Save Goa Front has no plans to field candidates
for the coming assembly elections but the SGF would
play a vibrant role in creating awareness amongst the
Goan voters of the need to judiciously exercise their
franchise at the next yearÂ’s crucial assembly
elections.
The next assembly elections may be the last chance for
Goan voters to assert themselves as otherwise their
votes and voices will be of no consequence in future
elections where the migrant population would rule the
roost in Goa.
