Ferryboat, ferryboat everywhere but not a single ferryboat here http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk27/4892637061/sizes/l/
This route being the busiest and in the capital city, Often there is not a single ferryboat here. Who cares? I mean, who cares for the 90% of the migrants who used this service? Of the remaining 10, 8 are the two wheelers (upto 30 per trip). Yesterday, we were here around 4pm (to go to Candolim Sangoodd) only to see there is no ferry here. On enquiry, we were told the only ferryboat which was plying is missing since 3pm. (on our way back, we were told the service was resumed after 3 hours i.e. 6pm) Last week, we witnessed similar situation when we were to go for dinner at Betim. We were here at 8.30pm. There was no ferry since 8pm and it never resumed until next day. (Usually, last ferry trip to Panjim-Betim is 10pm). People were waiting impatiently for up to one hour hoping the service would resume soon… Ferryboat service here withdrawn just like that with no prior notice nor any info to say if it will resume shortly or not. Yesterday, I asked one of the crew members.. ‘Do our brand new ferries breakdown too?’ He replied - "..since the new ferry are with double engine, it is used for tugging or pulling of other ailing or broke down ferries at other routes to bring them at work station And that’s what's we did on the last two occasions by withdrawing it from here.." Funny, very funny! Note: Earlier, I tried to copy CM and RND both bounced back, as always. See the ferry situation here and imagine the hardship the commuters are put to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFvWWB5iH0I Copy to Parrikar, Panjim MLA joego...@yahoo.co.uk for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For Goan Video Clips http://youtube.com/joeukgoa In Goa, Dial 1 0 8 For Hospital, Police, Fire etc
