Village Groups Should Remain United It is heartening to see a sense of unity amongst the different groups fighting the extremely unhealthy and unproductive governance of the present regime, the different village groups coming together to protest against the failure of the Kamat government to adhere to the recommendations of the people through the tedious people’s participation process.
I laud Adv. Yatish Naik and other members of the groups for taking this initiative to highlight the contrived and malafide intent of our government, behind the baffling “inserts” in the RP2021. As per the RTI reply there were no recommendations made for the changes by any government departments, Panchayats nor by any private individuals or parties, so from where did the changes appear and why ? The Kamat government is compelled for an explanation, to the general public, as they, with great effort, dedication and sacrifices had minutely gone through the process of analyzing the anomalies in the RP2011 and asked for the rectification of those anomalies, that our conniving authorities had forced on to the general public. In the end, it looks like all that hard work and the efforts of the people were futile. The Kamat government certainly owes Goans an explanation. The FIR against the conspirators is certainly a step in the right direction for their involvement in the malicious plan and should be taken to task for their part in discarding the very objective of overseeing the entire process of people’s participation. This it’s self goes to show that the Kamat government had no desire to adhere to the wishes of the people and the entire process was a charade. Hope the momentum gathers speed and mass, against the evil designs of the Kamat government, sooner or later they will have to realize the futility of taking the general public for granted for too long and far too often.
