One may agree or disagree with the politics of BJP.  Yet one has to give credit
to Mr. Parrikar for climbing the political ladder and reaching at sonic speed a
senior position in the Modi cabinet, despite hailing from a small state with
little national political backing.  Parrikar has been a good role model for
Goans and to-date has done Goans proud in Delhi.

Reading accounts in the daily press the Department of Defense had done  a good
job of laying the ground work for modernizing the Indian military.  Yet, any
follower of Indian military prowess would understand that India's military
forces has a long way to climb to even reach Asian standards of military power.

Chopper deal: AK Antony 'did not have the guts' to order CBI probe in time,
Parrikar says - Times of India

So why is Mr. Parrikar playing politics instead of concentrating on the
Department of Defense?  With Pakistan and China playing their duplicitous game
on India's northern and north-western border, Mr. Parrikar should keep his nose
to the ground and keep India safe.

Let history judge the performance of present and past defense ministers. I am
sure Mr. Parrikar does not want to be remembered as playing politics while
another scandal or poor performance by the military or the department of
defense brews during his tenure.  In fact anyone reading today's Times of India
article can see the Defense Minister at best putting his foot in his mouth and
at worst talking for both sides of his mouth.
