What do Colgate, Godrej, Maggie, Titan, Breast Cancer etc have in common ??
The recent thread'-- Shut-up, men! ....inspired me this
Colgate:
Mozo cheddo antam âÃolgattinâdant gansta
(My son now brushes his teeth with Colgate)
In most cases, it is not the Colgate they are using but it could be any other
paste like
promise, Binaca, Vicco etc
Colgate (brand) gets all the credit
Perhaps, Colgate was the first brand in the market
Godrej:
Cheddvak zotik or denneak kitem dilam gho ?
Zabab: Zaitem dilem Machine, tamonn, bhangar tea bhair Godrej (almar/cupboard)
Here, the steel cupboard could be of any brand but Godrej takes the credit.
Maggie (Stalk Cubes).
Koddiek (curry) Maggie galunk nam kitem gho ?
Again, it could be any brand chicken/veg stalk cubes, Maggie takes the credit.
Resper/Kazar:
Kazarak vechem nam gho ?
Nam bai, ami dukachim asat, tea passot vigorjekodde resperakuch vetelim.
I think, here the two words Resper and Kazar are misinterpreted (right meaning
just
other way round).
I guess Resper (Portuguese?)=Reception (dancing hall) and Kazar (satvo
Sacrament)= church
wedding. When we say we are going for âResperâare we really going to the
reception
/dance hall ?
Titan (new, about 10 years):
Tuzo cheddo khuim kam korta gho ?
Zabab: Titan-ant
Titan is one of the many companies located at Verna Electronic City (Goa).
Perhaps, Titan was the first Co. here, there are so many large as well as
small-small cos
now. Locals may be working for different companies/units but they and their
people at
home, friends etc will say working in Titan (as if working for Titan or as if
Titan is a
name of a place)

Ans. Verna Electronic city
I think âVerna Electronic Cityâ is too difficult to say or pronounce.
So they are using short cut thus..
