I think it would be extremely difficult for any Goan who had not lived there, to feel what it was like to be living in the then British East Africa.
Perhaps in London or in Toronto , there are Goan grandmothers who had come to East Africa to join their husbands as brides ( in their twenties) and especially Goan brides from the cosmopolitan city of Bombay, who could do better justice to what they felt like to be in East Africa for the first time in their lives.
