Justice Gautam Patel who currently heads the Bombay High Court at Goa has
made a very laudable move of flatly declining to move around with a PSO
(Personal Security Officer) which by protocol he is entitled to.


Will all other public officials in Goa also follow in the footsteps of
Justice Gautam Patel and allow the police to be deployed instead for good
street policing?  Only those who need to shield themselves because of their
shady deeds have to depend on police cover.


May we have many more of the calibre of Justice Gautam Patel. It is God
that will always protect them and not the cops.

Please find the match report of India U-16 Team's 2-2 draw against Nepal in
the AFC U-16 championship 2018 Qualifiers at the Halchowk Stadium in
Kathmandu today (September 22, 2017).



INDIA HELD TO A 2-2 DRAW BY HOSTS NEPAL

*KATHMANDU: *A game which saw four goals in the final 14 minutes of the
match, failed to find a winner until the final whistle as India were held
to a 2-2 draw by the hosts Nepal in the second encounter of the AFC U-16
Championship 2018 Qualifiers played at the Halchowk Stadium today
(September 22, 2017).



After conceding the first goal in the 76th minute, India came back strongly
riding on a terrific brace from Super-sub Harpreet (83', 86') only to
concede the lead within a minute which eventually, resulted in a 2-2 draw.



Having collected a solitary point from this match, India dropped down to
the second spot in Group D with 4 points from 2 matches whereas Iraq rose
to the pole position having bagged all 6 from 2 matches.



The game kicked-off in a slow pace but the boys in Blue came very close to
opening the scoreline in the 24th minute when Thoiba's blistering header
sailed over the crossbar.



Four minutes later, Ravi and Vikram built up an attack from the middle but
the former mistimed a tapping from handshaking distance only to see the
ball getting collected by the Nepalese goalkeeper.



Biaka, as Lalbiakhlua is fondly called by his fellow teammates, came to the
rescue of the team time and again to prevent the Nepalese attackers from
scoring in front of a decent crowd who were backing the Nepal U-16 Team
right from the kick-off.



Both teams went to the dressing room locked at a nil-nil scoreline in the
first 45 minutes.



Changing over, Indians changed their strategy and tried to build up the
attacks from both flanks. Coach introduced Lalrokima in the left wing
withdrawing Ravi in the 57th minute.



Having found the Nepalese goalkeeper out of position, Bekey poked it to the
net in the 65th minute only to see it cleared it by a defender on the
goalline.



Nepal broke the Indian deadlock in the 76th minute but their joy was
shortlived by the super-sub Harpreet who beat the Nepalese goalkeeper from
30-yards out only 7 minutes later.



Three minutes later, he tapped a cross from Lalrokima home to complete his
brace within 9 minutes of joining the fray.



Nepal didn't let the crowd down as they scored the equaliser in the 87th
minute to send the crowd into a delirium.



India will face the group-toppers Iraq in their final match of the group at
the same venue on September 24, 2017.

Invaluable Aadhhar card

The BJP right at the start wanted to scrap the aadhhar card, only because
it had the hall mark of UPA origin.  Neither were they able to discard  it
nor usher in new changes ..BJP has blindly  fallen in love head over heels
,over the wide use, never intended by their originators. BJP has
represented  vigorously in S.C defending its use and to some extent secured
relief, however partially. It is now visualized as an infallible document,
which could serve its use, be  it in the delivery of social benefits,
ensuring reach to those intended, linking it with Pan and bank accounts
etc. It is not surprising that meticulous planned, safe currency from being
 counterfeited has been belied. What is the guarantee  against duplication
,if high security currency is not safe at all? Pan cards , voter cards,
 medical insurance cards, driving cards ,debit and ATM cards have been
cloned with impunity .Then what is sacrosanct of safety of  Aaadhhar card?
Recent incidents have blown the safety, credibility of Aadhhar card as
duplicate cards in circulation are detected already .

Aadhhar has now been  made mandatory at all level, even for school
students.. The people standing in Q`s for  3 /4  hours at a stretch, and
starting hours before counter opens for operation. The unprecedented
torture undergone by people in waiting is unwarranted. It is fortunate and
saving grace that senior citzens have been conisdered as a special group.
The logic is stupid, that just one centre at district level will be
sufficient to meet the needs. This process of obtaining Aadhhar should be
made convenient by opening more such facilities at various levels, to meet
the growing demand of seekers, because of   compulsion of Aadhhar in
particular. it is said that half the life of Indians is spent standing  in
lines waiting for some documents or others It Is high time that
multiplicity of Photo identity cards is done away with and just limit it to
one and make it safe as far as possible

*GOA: *History beckons for Indian football as twenty one players have been
selected for the first ever Indian squad to participate in a FIFA World
Cup, the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad, which will participate in the FIFA
U-17 World Cup 2017 India.



India have been drawn in Group A alongside USA, Colombia and Ghana, and
will face USA on October 06, followed by Colombia and Ghana on October 09
and October 12 respectively at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.



“We believe that we are prepared for the FIFA U-17 World Cup”, said Head
Coach of the India U-17s Luis Norton de Matos. “We have worked hard and
made progress, but at the same time we go directly to a high level
competition against some of the best teams in the world”



“We will fight to win each match even if there is only five percent chance
of winning. We will not give up and nothing is impossible in football”



“We plan to show the world that we are on the same page as them”, Matos
added.



In an effort to field a strong team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 India,
the All India Football Federation (AIFF) provided exposure tours for the
India U-17s wherein the Indian Colts faced Macedonia, Serbia and Benfica
amongst other teams. The Indian Colts had also participated in a
Four-Nation Tournament in Mexico where they lost against Mexico and
Colombia, but held Chile to a 1-1 draw with ten-man.



“Against Chile and Macedonia we registered good results but the FIFA U-17
World Cup will be a competition and competitions are different from
friendly matches”, Matos informed.



“However, the level of the players is very high and we plan to give it our
all once the FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks-off”, Matos quipped.
