My stand ever since I attended GGC in Jan 2007 at Cidade de Goa is that this
forum is nothing but a big farce in the name of NRG's. It is just a
networking forum and nothing has come out of it. The Action Taken Reports
which NRI Commissioner is boasting can be handle by a NRG cell in liaison
with External Affairs Ministry. Most of the NRG organisations (dance and
party organisations is more apt) are mindless of wasteful expenditure. For
many NRG's Mr. Eduardo Faleiro is their saviour. His contribution to GOA
or his constituency which he represented for 5 times as MP before we became
NRI Commissioner (Congress retirement scheme) is not so illustrious as one
might think.

The Goa Government has spent a whopping Rs 3, 31, 47,262 (3 crores 31
lakhs
47 thousand 262 rupees) on NRI Commissioner Mr. Eduardo Faleiro and his
office from the date of his appointment on 23rd Feb 2006 to date. This has
been revealed in the information furnished by the Home Department under
the
Right to Information Act.
