The GT "Weekender" today comes up with an astonishing report ...like Dan
Brown's "Da Vinci Code". Perhaps, the Editor was using the Saturday's Goan
Observer as the "Primer". It has the "usual suspects" Oscar, Sabina , Patricia,
Miguel [incidentally, all CATHOLICS from NORTH GOA] and excludes Shridhar
Kamat, Dilip Prabhudesai and others [all HINDU GSBs from SOUTH GOA]. There is a
nice photo of Oscar, Patricia and Sabina sitting in Patricia and Agnelo's
dining room to help create the proper image. Why are Shridhar, Dilip and others
missing from the photo? They are supposed to be the GBA of the South. I am NOT
a communal or casteist or North v/s South Goa kind of person. The GT obviously
is in this report.
The intro "plug" says it all: "Starting out as the last great hope for Goa, the
Goa Bachao Abhiyan, ......" If you get images of the "Opinion Poll", not to
worry. Patricia's house is bang opposite Dr.Jack de Sequeira's house.
If it reminds you of the "Konkani Parjecho Avaz" or KPA, no sweat either. The
same folks that deceived the Catholic masses to agitate for Konkani and then
manipulated the Official Language Bill,1987, the denies that there is anything
like Konkani written in the Roman script, are at play. So what if 90 % of the
agitators do not jnow the difference between Konkani, Marathi and Hindi when it
is written in a script they cannot read, Devanagri. That is the ONLY script in
which one can write the Official Language of Goa.
So you did not want Regional Plan 2011? Now take Regional Plan 2021, amended
Section 16 and 16A of the TCP Act, ODP 2011, Taluka PDAs to cover ALL villages
and towns ....and a Mining Policy to supplemnet the SEZ Policy that is yet to
be withdrawn.
The GT is just a spoke in the wheel of "development". May the worthies who
write such reports live long enough to see their grandchildren suffer for their
acts of "kindness".
Goa Bachao Abhiyan is no "Great White Hope". It was not conceived as an elitist
NGO. The people in the rallies were not gavddi cannon fodder like in the case
of KPA. The error of the KPA must NEVER be repeated. So what if the KBM
allegedly provide the cannon fodder for the South? It can well be poison fodder
that give us bull.
