GWS (Goan Welfare Society - Kuwait) Annual Scholarship Award for meritorious Goan students will be awarded to two Goan students who have secured the highest aggregate marks at the S.S.C. examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in April 2008. The GWS awards are donated by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Alphonso, Patron Members of the Goan Welfare Society. Only students of Goan origin are eligible to apply for the awards. All those who qualify for the awards are requested to submit their application along with photocopies of the Marksheet and Passing certificate attested by their School authorities, copies of their birth certificate and birth certificate of their parents in proof of their Goan origin, addressed to Mr. Alex Wilson Coelho, President of the Goan Welfare Society, House No.486, Xindolem, Curtorim, Salcete, Goa 403709 within two weeks from the date of this announcement. The Awards will be decided on the basis of merit from among the applications received. The GWS awards are instituted as a goodwill gesture in order to encourage Goan students to do well in their academic career.
