Check for the BOARD at the site: Any DEVELOPMENT / CONSTRUCTION SITE must have a board prominently displaying : a. Name of the Developer b. Date of commencement of work c. NOC from the Town & Country Planning Department d. Conversation Sanad from the Collectorate e. Construction Licence from Village Panchayat / Municipality f. In case of the Activities mentioned above, NOC from the concerned Authority ( Date of Issue & Validity period of all permissions need to be mentioned alongwith ) 2. If there is no board or any of the requisite information is not displayed, Immediately Contact the following Nodal officers who are responsible to prevent / stop the above violations : Collector or Additional Collector or Deputy Collector [See phone numbers below] They will then carry out a Site Inspection and also verify if permissions have been granted. If the activity is illegal a “Stop Work Order” should be issued forthwith and the Police Authorities will be informed to enforce the Order and initiate routine patrolling to avoid restart of illegal work. Inspite of the order, if work is restarted Police may seize plant & machinery and seal the premises pending completion of inquiry. During Non-working hours, Sundays and Public Holidays – File complaints, in writing, with Police Authorities at the respective Police Station or dial “100” (Police Control Room or PCR vans) who in turn will act and report the matter to the Nodal officer. 3. All verbal complaints to the Collector need to be followed up in writing, with copies marked to the concerned authorities and the Chief Secretary. Please ensure that your written complaint is registered with the concerned department and acknowedged on your duplicate copy for the purpose of record and follow-up Use the Right to Information Act to gain further information / documents to strengthen the case against any illegalities.
