Re: [Goanet] To add to the debate on English : Why can't we all just get along?
I was not expecting any semblance of even-handedness or consistency from Noronha about his newly minted situational rule about not addressing Goanet members who are not contributing to Goanet in their official capacity as Doc, Prof, Fr., etc. From long experience on Goanet and other Goan internet forums administered by him I know that the rules he makes do not apply to himself. Or perhaps, the rule applies only for the title of Admin. But for the first time after repeatedly asking this question for years I have an admission from him that he is indeed a Goanet Admin. That is good enough for me. Now as to how an Admin participating in a passionate debate that he is in a position to moderate in a moderated forum by blocking certain posts and allowing others, to say nothing about having the privilege of fast tracking his own posts, can change hats from being an Admin to a simple lowly member of the forum, I have no earthly idea. Called in his side kick Goveia to bolster - such a forlorn figure. Dear Gabe, I thought you would have learned your lesson by now. But here it is: Please do not understand my silence at your use of FOUL words as supporting your lack of basic decency in public discourse. I have already stated my position very clearly that : I don't mind... what anyone calls me. Just in case you were not familiar with simple English, I even wrote in Konkani Tuka Inglez somzona re?. Just for your education: I absolutely respect Santoshbab's education, work and basic sense of decency. If any one has even an iota of envy about his achievements, I suggest that the envious person have a nice hot bath. And yes .this (based on your lie) is still on the table: please direct me to an audio recording or to a post wherein ' the man has told Santoshbab that he should not be addressed as admin Noronha'. I noted that you had weasled out of it with a wimpish apology . only to return with the same nonsense a few days later. Time to stop this nonsense, guy. Stick to the excellent music you direct us to or even your incessant whining about UK-GOA politricks.about which, you may have a point. jc --- Protect Goa's natural beauty Support Goa's first Tiger Reserve Sign the petition at: http://www.goanet.org/petition/petition.php ---
