DIASPORA NEWS: NEW DELHI
--------------------------------------------------------------

EASTER REPORT: Fatima Pais <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> updates us
with news from New Delhi:

Goans in Delhi celebrate Easter. Easter Sunday, 16th April,
Goenkarancho Ekvot organized a Gala Event on the lawns of Goa
Sadan, New Delhi for Goans living in and around Delhi and
their friends.

The Chief Guest for the evening was Chief Minister of Goa,
Shri Pratapsingh Rane. The Directory of Goans in Delhi and
adjoining states was presented by Suman Kurade, President of
Goenkarancho Ekvot.

The evening was filled with music by none other that Seby, on
occasions joined by some of the families for a song or two.
There was tambola which is the usual crowd puller, games,
folk dances by Goan children and mandos by Ninette Sharma and
group. This was followed by dinner and dance. The programme
was compared by Benny Pinto.

But the greatest attraction as usual was the Feni Cocktails
for the ladies mostly while the men I guess drank it neat or
however it is meant to be drunk! Everyone enjoyed the evening
as it was also an occasion to meet up with each other and
make new friends. -- Maria Fatima Pais
