Light In Reflection By Silvia Verdolini & Manuel Scortichini Light in Reflection is a game where light coming from few spotlights can be “transported” by multiple reflections off rotating mirrors. When light reaches the target, it reflects out of the installation in a rainbow of colors. The installation is in the shape of the golden spiral, which is found in nature in the most diverse situations: from the structure of a shell, to the patterns created by the seeds of a sunflower up to vast galaxies. With this installation, the artist would like to convey that there are always many paths to reach a goal or state of mind, but there should be a general sense of moving in the same direction and contributing to the same cause. Talking By Ishac Bertran & Jonathan Wohl The process of visual perception is most often taken for granted — we use our eyes and brains to make sense of the world as naturally as we use our lungs to breathe. Talking is an artistic research project exploring perception and communication, and thinking about what it means to place these processes into machines. They create a playful environment through which visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the human perceptual process. Cosmic Fingerprint By Rafaella Las and Dan Scotti Cosmic Fingerprint is a visual representation of the light signals that we, as a species, transmit across the planet, and subsequently out into the universe. All of our broadcasting equipment is based on the use of different frequencies on the electromagnetic spectrum. These light waves exist throughout the universe. But here on Earth we utilize them in the transmission of data, most commonly in the form of Radio and Television. These otherwise natural occurrences are imprinted with an unmistakably human fingerprint, and since the first radio broadcast in the 1890’s have been breaking free of our world, traveling at the speed of light forever out into space. Continue your climb onto the Panjim Church steps to look down into an infinite video tube.
