Documentary- Goa Handicrafts, Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) has produced a documentary film on Aparant- Goan Handicrafts with financial assistance from Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles.
The documentary film which has been produced in HD and Digibeta format will be released on 03/05/10 at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa Shri Digambar Kamat at 6:00pm at Maquinez Palace auditorium, Panaji, Goa . The English documentary has been produced at a total cost of approx 14.5 lakhs by Mahatta Media Solutions New Delhi and will very soon be dubbed in 3 additional languages namely Konkani, Marathi and Hindi. The documentary is the first of its kind on Goan handicrafts and will be used to extensively promote Goan handicrafts within the country and abroad. Release of Maps, Brochures and Pamphlets on Goan Handicrafts - The Chief Minister will also release copies of maps, brochures and pamphlets on Goan Handicrafts which have been printed by the GHRSSIDC with financial assistance from Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles. A total of 30000 maps, 20000 brochures and pamphlets have been printed in an attractive format for promotion of Goan Handicrafts. The maps will be made available at New Delhi Metro Railways Stations and important hotels of Delhi so as to actively promote Goan Handicrafts in the lucrative market of New Delhi. The maps, brochures and pamphlets will be kept at APARANT Emporia, Exhibitions, Trade Shows, etc and will also be sent to International clients. Subsidy Scheme for Clay Ganesh Idol Makers The Chief Minister will also distribute the subsidy cheques to beneficiaries under the Subsidy Scheme for Clay Ganesh Idol Makers for the year 2009 -2010.Under this scheme a subsidy of Rs 100 per idol is provided to artisans per year subject to a maximum subsidy amount of Rs. 15000/- per artisan as per predefined criteria. This scheme is implemented through GHRSSIDC with the aim of revival of the traditional art of clay idol making and to ensure its continuity apart from ensuring gainful employment to traditional artisans. Under the scheme a total of 437 artisans will be benefited and the subsidy amount disbursed will be Rs.41.82 lakhs for the financial year 2009-10.
